Villa Casa Colina - Location, Car Hire and Costa Blanca Weather |
||||
Where on the Costa Blanca is Quesada?Ciudad Quesada is approximately four miles inland from Guardamar and the villa is on the Rojales side of Quesada, roughly where you see the flag denoting La Marquesa golf course on the map.We are ideally situated approximately mid-way between Alicante airport (code ALC) and Murcia (MJV), giving you a choice of low-cost airlines flying to both destinations from all parts of the UK. Note that Murcia airport is not close to the city of that name, but is actually at San Javier, by the Mar Menor, as shown on the map. The drive to the villa from either airport is approximately 35/40 minutes. Will I need to hire a car?Guests who have not hired a car report having a very enjoyable holiday, but we would recommend that you do need to hire a car for convenience, as well as enabling you to appreciate even more what a lovely part of Spain this is. The area has an excellent road network, and we find the driving in Spain very courteous - See also the comments from Jenny and Marion (October 2007): "It was the first time I had driven abroad but the roads around the villa and surrounding villages made it a pleasure".Where can I get the best rates for car hire?Click on the links opposite for a quote and we believe you will find the rates hard to beat. We have included more information about car hire on our "Useful Links" page.Will I receive detailed directions?Detailed dirDetailed directions to the villa will be forwarded on receipt of the final payment. The directions are well tried and tested - no one has got lost so far!What is the weather like on the Costa Blanca?Costa Blanca, literally the 'White Coast', is so named because of its fine white sandy beaches - many, including nearby Guardamar, flying the Blue Flag. An average of 320 days sunshine and average temperatures of 15șC in winter and 25șC in summer make this an ideal all year round holiday destination. Shops and restaurants in the area are open all year, unlike certain resorts which are seasonal and therefore many businesses close down in the winter.Due to the health-giving effects of the salt lakes on the atmosphere, combined with the climate, the World Health Organisation states that this particular section of the Costa Blanca is one of the healthiest places in the world to live. |
