Southern Costa Blanca
Guardamar beaches

The villa is on the side of Ciudad Quesada which adjoins Rojales, roughly where you see the flag denoting La Marquesa golf course on the first map.

We are ideally situated approximately mid-way between Alicante airport (code ALC) and Murcia (MJV), giving you a choice of low-cost airlines flying to both destinations from all parts of the UK. Murcia airport is not close to the city of that name, but is actually at San Javier, by the Mar Menor, as shown on the first map above.

The second map shows the proximity of Guardamar's beaches, and the salt lakes of the La Mata nature reserve.

Do you need a car? - Guests who have not hired a car report having a very enjoyable holiday, but we would recommend that you do need to hire a car for convenience, as well as enabling you to appreciate even more what a lovely part of Spain this is. The area has an excellent road network, and we find the driving in Spain very courteous - See also the comments from Jenny and Marion (October 2007): "It was the first time I had driven abroad but the roads around the villa and surrounding villages made it a pleasure".

Directions - Detailed directions to the villa will be forwarded on receipt of the final payment. The directions are well tried and tested - no one has got lost so far!

Discounts on car-hire - We are able to obtain discounted car-hire rates for you, and can obtain quotes or send further details on request. Alternatively, if you would prefer to be collected from the airport this can be arranged. In the latter case, should you want to hire a car for just a few days during you stay, this is no problem. Please see CAR HIRE on our links page.

The Costa Blanca region

Costa Blanca, literally the 'White Coast', is so named because of its many fine white sandy beaches - many, including nearby Guardamar, flying the Blue Flag. An average of 320 days sunshine and average temperatures of 15ºC in winter and 25ºC in summer make this an ideal all year round holiday destination. Shops and restaurants in the area are open all year, unlike certain resorts which are seasonal and therefore many businesses close down in the winter. Due to the health-giving effects of the salt lakes on the atmosphere, combined with the climate, the World Health Organisation states that this particular section of the Costa Blanca is one of the healthiest places in the world to live.
